West Midlands Metro customers are in for a musical treat this month with live performances on board the trams during the acclaimed Birmingham, Sandwell, and Westside Jazz Festival.
While introducing jazz and blues music to a wider audience, the light-hearted sets are sure to provide welcome entertainment and a ‘feel good’ boost across the network on July 15, 20 and 23.
The performances have been organised as part of the UK’s longest-established festival of its type, and one of Europe’s biggest free jazz parties.
Running between July 15 and July 24, the jazz festival regularly features over 200 performances, alongside workshops, talks, exhibitions, and masterclasses across dozens of venues.
West Midlands Metro Marketing Manager, Elizabeth Cole, commented: “We are delighted to support Europe’s biggest free jazz festival by hosting a series of live performances on our trams this year.
“We’re sure the performances will prove to be a hit with our customers, making their journey even more enjoyable!”
Many of the festival venues are served by the tram network and you can find a full programme of events here.
