We realise that it’s not all about ‘what’ we’re doing, it’s the ‘why’ too. We want to develop and grow our services to offer the midlands a better way of living and commuting, we want to offer connections. We want to reach out and really make the midlands a better place to live, work and travel, and help our residents to thrive.
We wanted to make a lasting difference, so we decided to begin ongoing support by bringing attention to, and raising funds for, as many invaluable causes as possible, and to do this successfully, we chose to organise a series of exciting fundraising events for a different charity each year!
As it’s all about uniting people, places and further opportunities, we wanted to get our colleagues involved too, by giving them the responsibility of choosing the yearly charity.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, is one of the region’s most essential emergency services, has been chosen as our Charity of the Year.
For over 30 years, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been saving lives across the West Midlands and beyond. Operating three air ambulances and a fleet of critical care cars, their specialist crews respond to some of the most serious incidents, delivering advanced pre‑hospital care when every second counts.
Each year, the charity undertakes thousands of missions, providing rapid, life‑saving treatment to patients in their greatest moment of need. With no government or NHS funding for its daily operations, Midlands Air Ambulance relies entirely on public support to keep its helicopters in the air and its critical care teams on the road.
At the heart of their mission is a simple but powerful belief: saving lives by saving time. Their commitment to delivering exceptional emergency care has made them one of the most trusted and respected charities in the region.
We look forward to supporting their vital work throughout 2026 with our fundraising efforts.
As our 2025 charity partnership with West Midlands Metro comes to an end, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made the past year so welcoming and enjoyable. It’s been a pleasure to see beyond the daily Metro commute and experience the incredible work happening behind the scenes.
From raising essential funds to helping amplify awareness of our vital support services, West Midlands Metro, you have been incredible. Your support, energy and commitment have made a real difference to the individuals and families who rely on Black Country Women’s Aid.
