Ticket machines provide you with another way to buy your ticket for the tram. In addition, you can also buy weekly and monthly passes and top-up your Swift card using the machines. The introduction of ticket machines is part of a wider plan which will see customers buy their tickets before they board the tram in the future.

You can buy single Metro only tickets, day tickets for tram, bus + Metro and nnetwork (bus, tram and train) travel, as well as adult season tickets on a Swift card.

Yes, you will be able to top up your Swift pay as you go card using the ticket machines.

Yes. You can pay for your ticket using cash (coins and notes, except for £50 notes). You can also pay using your debit or credit card, contactless, Apple Pay or Google Pay and Swift Go and Swift Pay As You Go.

You can purchase your tram tickets from the MyMetro App, which is available on iOS and Android and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.

The MyMetro app allows you to buy a selection of Metro only and bus+Metro tickets, for both adult and child travellers. There is also a selection of exclusive tickets only available from the MyMetro App. Find out more here.

You can also pay monthly with our Direct Debit scheme, which is available on Swift. More information about the range of direct debit options is available here.
