Ways to Pay for Travel

All the ways to buy your ticket before you start your journey on the West Midlands Metro tram network. You must have a valid ticket or pass before boarding the tram.

Ticket Machine

There are ticket machines at every tram stop, making it easy to buy your ticket before you board. You can pay by cash, card or contactless payment, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Simply follow the instructions on the touch screen to buy your chosen ticket.

MyMetro App!

MyMetro App is one of the easiest and most popular ways to purchase and store your ticket.

Simply download our app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and register your details, and your tickets will be available on your phone, ready to go.

Direct Debit / Subscribe & Save​

If you travel regularly, a monthly Direct Debit is a the most affordable way to travel on West Midlands Metro.

Pay by monthly Direct Debit and pay for just 13 days, then enjoy unlimited travel for the rest of the month. Your ticket is loaded onto your Swift photocard, so once you’re set up, you can simply use your Swift card to travel.

Swift Card

Swift is a smartcard you can use instead of paper tickets when you buy public transport tickets in the West Midlands. 

You can load season tickets or Pay As You Go credit onto a Swift card, making travel quicker and easier.
