West Midlands Metro will be paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne tomorrow as fans say their final farewell to the rock legend.
The Metro tram named after the Black Sabbath star will be parked at the Library stop as his funeral procession moves through the city centre.
With thousands of fans and well-wishers expected to fill the city streets to pay their heartfelt respects, all tram services between Grand Central to Edgbaston will be suspended from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm on Wednesday 30th of July. Broad Street will also be closed to taxis and all other vehicles, with bus diversions in place.

Sophie Allison, West Midlands Metro Managing Director, commented: “Tomorrow will be a sad day, but also a chance to celebrate Ozzy’s huge contribution to rock music and popular culture. We are proud to have one of our trams named after him, and it’s fitting that it will be part of the city’s fond farewell to one of its most famous sons.”
“Anyone travelling into the city tomorrow should plan their journey in advance as trams will not be operating between Grand Central and Edgbaston Village. We would like to thank customers in advance for their patience and understanding during this unavoidable disruption to services.”
Between the hours of 0700 – 1600 trams will run from Wolverhampton Station to Grand Central only. Customers are advised to check our website and social media pages for up-to-date information.
