A stunning artwork sponsored by West Midlands Metro is set to be unveiled next week in the city centre, as part of the spectacular art project celebrating Birmingham’s rich heritage while raising awareness of one of the city’s best-loved charities.

Earlier this year, Metro proudly joined forces with Birmingham Hospice and Wild in Art to sponsor a bull as part of the Bulls in the City initiative a vibrant parade of larger-than-life sculptures inspired by the iconic Bullring Bull.

Celebrating Birmingham’s bold spirit, with a playful nod towards one of Midland’s most iconic TV dramas, the Metro bull, designed by local artist Megan Smith Evans, is sure to prove a highlight of the arts trail.

From Wednesday 16 July, the Metro bull sculpture will take pride of place in Birmingham city centre, offering a vibrant visual treat for passersby.

What’s more, the first 250 people to find and scan the QR code on the Metro sculpture will receive exclusive bull-themed Metro merchandise and be entered into a prize draw to win one month of free tram travel.

Sophie Allison. West Midlands Metro Managing Director, says she can’t wait to see the reaction from visitors to the city when they spot Metro’s contribution to the Bulls in the City trail.

“Our bull is certainly an eye-catching addition to the trail, and we’re sure people will instantly recognise its connection to some of Birmingham’s most iconic characters,” she explained.

“We’re also proud to support Birmingham Hospice, an organisation that delivers expert care and compassionate support to individuals and families facing the most challenging times.”
