With the school summer holidays just around the corner, West Midlands Metro is gearing up for what promises to be an exciting few months in Birmingham and surrounding areas.
From mid-July through August, the region comes alive with a packed calendar of must-see events. One of the summer’s highlights is the Bulls in the City arts trail organised by Birmingham Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art. This vibrant trail will see a herd of brightly decorated bull sculptures popping up across the city. Food lovers can also look forward to the Birmingham Restaurant Festival, serving up mouth-watering deals at some of the city’s top dining spots.
Family favourites such as the National SEA LIFE Centre and Thinktank Science Museum are also expected to be popular destinations, with festivals, concerts, and sporting events adding even more to the city’s buzzing summer vibe.
Residents and visitors heading into the city can take advantage of trams running every eight minutes into the heart of Birmingham, along with convenient park and ride facilities for those driving in offering an easy and reliable alternative to getting stuck in summer traffic jams.
“Metro offers great value tickets for families,” says Michael-Reading Skilton, Head of Commercial at West Midlands Metro. “Our Family Ticket gives unlimited tram travel for one to two adults with one to four children for just £10.70 and as little as £8.20 after 6:00pm. It is perfect for a day out exploring the Bulls in the City trail.”
As a proud sponsor of Bulls in the City, Metro will have our own bull sculpture when the trail launches on Wednesday, 16 July. As a bonus, the first 250 people to find and scan the Metro Bull’s QR code will unlock exclusive rewards limited-edition Metro Bull merchandise. Plus, everyone who scans the bull will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one month of free tram travel.
We are thrilled to support this creative celebration of Birmingham’s heritage while helping raise funds for Birmingham Hospice and we’re really looking forward to helping hundreds of people explore the exciting and unique arts trail over the coming weeks,” Michael added.
