The team is celebrating a fantastic achievement after taking home three prestigious trophies at the Dudley College and Black Country Skills Shop Adult Awards held at the college last week.
Metro was named Outstanding Employer of the Year, recognising the dedication and impact of the entire team. In addition, two Driver Customer Service Representatives received individual honours: Becky Holmes for the Resilience Award and Myriam Fiamavle for the Learning to Earning Award.
The awards ceremony, held at the local college last week, celebrated the hard work, growth, and commitment of adult learners and local professionals.
Claire Scrimshire, Head of Human Resources at West Midlands Metro, commented: “After facing stiff competition from some of the region’s best-known employers, we’re delighted to be recognised for our efforts to support colleagues on their learning journey and helping them to launch rewarding careers on the Metro.

“Congratulations also go to Becky and Myriam, they are a credit to our organisation, the HR and Learning and Development teams are doing an amazing job in delivering courses and programmes that change people’s lives.”
For nearly seven years, the Metro has worked in partnership with the college and the Department for Work and Pensions to support people into work through the Sector-Based Work Academies programme.
“The Employer Award has already helped dozens of people back into work while strengthening our dedicated and diverse team,” Claire added. “We’re especially proud to receive this recognition in Dudley, as we prepare to expand the existing network into the area. It’s a great way to begin building connections in the local community.”
