Following the successful launch of services to Albert Street and Millennium Point over the Easter weekend, West Midlands Metro has signed a new partnership with Clayton Hotel Birmingham to promote more sustainable travel across the city.
The agreement will see hotel guests at the Clayton Hotel Birmingham enjoy a 15 per cent discount on tram travel during their stay, saving them money as they explore the city centre and surrounding areas.
Clayton Hotel Birmingham’s staff will also enjoy more perks, with a 20% discount on tram journeys, making commuting by tram more affordable and convenient – especially with the new Birmingham Eastside Extension tram stop now open directly outside the hotel.
Michael Reading-Skilton, Metro’s Head of Commercial, commented: “Our colleagues will also benefit from 20% off stays at the hotel, supporting a better work-life balance for our growing team.
“With trams running from the hotel every 15 minutes and up to every eight to ten minutes on the wider network, it’s a quick and convenient way for visitors to explore the city. This latest partnership demonstrates our continued commitment to helping boost tourism in the region.”
Hotel guests and employees can enjoy exclusive travel discounts across all West Midlands Metro zones via the MyMetro app. Guests can collect discount codes at the hotel, while tram passengers can unlock a special room rate using code WMMC25 when booking online. As well as 15% off at the hotel’s Grill Restaurant and Alvar Bar with a valid Metro paper and app ticket.
Clayton Hotel Birmingham Director of Sales and Marketing said: “We are delighted to be working with West Midlands Metro on this exciting initiative. Sustainability is at the heart of our values, and giving our guests and team members easier, greener access to the city is a fantastic step forward. With the new tram stop right on our doorstep, visitors can explore Birmingham’s attractions with ease while reducing their carbon footprint.
For our staff, the discount makes commuting more affordable and convenient, which supports well-being and enhances work-life balance. We believe this partnership will not only benefit our hotel community but also contribute to a wider tourism boost across Birmingham City.”
This partnership is another step towards creating a greener, more connected and accessible region.
