West Midlands Metro is once again proud to support the region’s LGBTQ+ community, helping thousands of people travel conveniently, sustainably and affordably to Pride celebrations in both Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
With two of the region’s biggest Pride events taking place this spring and summer, Metro is encouraging visitors to leave the car behind and make the tram their first choice for getting to the heart of the action.
Pride Comes to Birmingham
Birmingham Pride returns from 23 to 25 May, bringing a packed programme of entertainment, community events and celebrations to the city centre. This year’s festival features a star-studded line-up, including headline performer Katy B, with thousands of visitors expected to attend the two-day event and vibrant Pride Parade. To help customers make the most of the celebrations, West Midlands Metro has once again teamed up with event organisers to offer 20% off Metro Zone 1-4 fares for Pride ticketholders attending the parade. After downloading the MyMetro app, customers can simply scan the QR code provided by event organisers via email to access the discounted travel offer.

The tram is the most convenient and sustainable way to get to the heart of the action, with services running every four to eight minutes. Wolverhampton Gets Ready to Celebrate
Just a few weeks later, attention turns to Wolverhampton Pride, which takes place at West Park on Saturday, 6 June. Hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter Kaylee Golding, the event is expected to attract thousands of visitors, with the Ultimate Boyband Party Show topping the entertainment bill. Visitors travelling by tram can step off in Wolverhampton city centre and enjoy a short walk to the park, avoiding traffic congestion and parking pressures while making the most of the day’s festivities.
