West Midlands Metro customers will now be able to catch up on the latest local, national and international headlines on their daily commute with the return of the popular Metro newspaper to the onboard newsstands.

From this week, free copies of the Metro newspaper will be available for customers on the tram network, helping to make traveling on the Metro an enjoyable experience.

Michael Reading-Skilton, West Midlands Metro Commercial Manager, explained: “The free copies of the paper were always popular with our customers, but we had to withdraw them around three years ago due to operational reasons, COVID19 and the introduction of new trams.

“We’re delighted that customers are again able to pick up a copy of the Metro onboard our trams and the newspaper’s return is another good reason for leaving your car at home and taking the tram instead.

“Rather than being behind the wheel while stuck in traffic, commuters who travel by tram can pass the time by reading through all the latest news from our region and beyond!”
