The thriving arts scene in the West Midlands has received another welcome boost from the region’s popular tram network as it teams up with an art gallery to promote local culture. Wolverhampton Art Gallery is the latest organisation to benefit from a partnership with West Midlands Metro, offering a 10% discount on travel tickets when visiting the gallery.
In addition, Metro users can get a 10% discount in Glaze the Eating Space at the Art Gallery on the production of a valid travel ticket. To support the gallery volunteer programme the Metro has also offered a 15% discount to all arts and culture volunteers.
This new partnership aims to promote sustainable travel for schools, residents and visitors to Wolverhampton from across the region highlighting the local culture and the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Michael Reading-Skilton, the Metro’s Commercial Manager, explained: “Wolverhampton Art Gallery is just a four-minute walk from our Pipers Row stop, and with trams from every eight minutes, the Metro offers one of the easiest ways to get to one of the area’s most important cultural centres. This latest partnership reflects our commitment to supporting local arts that truly reflect the diversity and talent to be found in the communities we serve.”

Wolverhampton Art Gallery is located just a short walk from the Pipers Row Metro stop and provides easy access and opportunity for schools, residents and visitors from across the region to experience world-class culture in Wolverhampton”
To take advantage of the discount, volunteers simply need to download the My Metro app from the iOS or Android app store and scan the QR code from the email they’ll receive from the gallery. Customers will need to visit Wolverhampton Art Gallery to get the QR code to receive the discount.
