West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), owner of Midland Metro, has submitted a proposed amendment to update the West Midlands Metro Byelaws under section 49 of the Midland Metro Act 1989. WMCA intends to bring these changes into force in the future and welcomes feedback on its proposals.

Should you have any comments on these proposed changes, you may make representations directly to the Department for Transport (DfT) by Saturday, 14 February 2026.

The current West Midlands Metro Byelaws, which are planned to be updated, can be accessed here. A full copy of the proposed byelaws is available from this link: West Midlands Metro Byelaws 2026.
