On Sunday, November 10 (Remembrance Sunday), and Monday, November 11 (Armistice Day), West Midlands Metro trams will observe a moment of silence to honour veterans and active military personnel, joining the nation in remembering those who have fallen in the two world wars and more recent conflicts.

At 11 a.m. on both days, all tram services will pause for a two-minute silence, allowing both colleagues and passengers to reflect on the sacrifices and courage shown by our nation’s servicemen and women.

Sophie Allison, Managing Director of West Midlands Metro, commented, “The dedication and heroism displayed by members of the armed forces, both past and present, we’re offering free travel to veterans and current Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel attending Remembrance events over the weekend.”

“We’ll never forget the sacrifices made by these brave men and women. Offering free travel is a small way of showing our gratitude for all they have done to protect us,” Sophie added.

Free travel is available to military personnel in uniform, displaying medals, or with military ID, as well as cadets in uniform. To access the offer, veterans and serving armed forces members simply need to wear their uniform, display medals, or show their service ID.
