One of our trams was proudly unveiled in honour of Geoffrey Claydon CB.
Geoffrey’s story is deeply rooted in the West Midlands. Born in Birmingham, his lifelong passion for tramways began here, a passion that grew into a remarkable career helping to shape the future of light rail across the UK.
His dedication, vision and expertise were instrumental in the development of the West Midlands Metro helping to create a network that thousands of customers rely on every day.
Geoffrey sadly passed away last year at the age of 94, but his influence is still felt in every journey our trams make.
This tram naming is a heartfelt tribute to his legacy, honouring not only what he achieved, but the lasting impact he made on the industry, the region and the people it serves.
A fitting tribute to a legacy that continues, one stop at a time.
